The byelections to the Tharali (SC) Assembly seat will take place on May 28, Chief Electoral office (CEO) has announced on Thursday.
According to election schedule announced by CEO, the counting for the Assembly seat that fell vacant after the demise of BJP MLA Magan Lal Shah will take place on May 31 and the entire election process would be completed by June 2.
The gazette notification for the byelection will be issued on May 03, while May 10 will be the last date of filing nominations. The scrutiny of the nomination papers will be done on May 11 and May 14 will be the last date of withdrawal of candidatures.
In view of the byelection dates having been announced, the model code of conduct is also in place from Thursday.
