It must be great going back to the Ice Age family?

It is incredible to be a part of it; it is their fifth one, but I just joined only in the last movie, Ice Age 4. It’s always fun to do these animation films, especially when you have kids.

What is the experience like?

It’s fun to go in your sweats and sneakers, and no makeup and just like really do what you do best. I think what people don’t understand about actors is that we really do love to be silly! We get to scream and make silly voices!

Have your kids, Max and Emme, seen this movie?

No; only the last one.

So do you tell them that’s your voice?

Yeah; I always make sure they know what I do.

Why do you love this character of Shira?

Shira, you know, she’s a tough girl! She’s a sabre-tooth tiger! I don’t know why they thought of me, I’m such a softy! But they told me you should do this and to be honest I’ve had some fun with it. Working with Denis Leary, who played Diego, and the rest is always great.

Singing, acting, dancing or dubbing, what do you prefer?

I love it all. I’ve never seen myself as just a singer, as just an actress or just a dancer or just a live entertainer. I really do all of it, I do all of it you know, whole-heartedly. All of it is just as important. I could never just choose to do one thing.
