Watchmen hold convention

Jalandhar, July 30

Watchmen from rural areas under the banner of Lal Jhanda Pendu Chaunkidar Union, Punjab, today hold a convention at Desh Bhagat Yadgar Hall to discuss their long pending demands.

While addressing the gathering, Paramjit Singh Neelo said, "The watchmen in the rural areas are being mistreated. Their monthly wages has been fixed to 800. However, they have not got the wages for the past many months." 

Speaking about their demands, he said their services should be brought under the labour laws and the wages be increased accordingly.
