Rewari, July 19
Urmila Yadav (55), widow of Shaurya Chakra awardee Lt Colonel PK Yadav, has accused the Haryana Urban Development Authorities (HUDA) of committing injustice with her in terms of allotment of petrol pump sites.
She has filed a complaint with the CM window and the police authorities.
She has threatened to resort to a hunger strike at Jantar Mantar in Delhi if justice was not ensured within a month.
HUDA had invited applications for the allotment of petrol pump sites on leasehold basis for various sectors in Rewari in September 2013.
“As per the HUDA policy, priority is given to applicants belonging to the Defence category but my name was not selected despite being on the top of the list and being a widow of an Army officer who sacrificed his life for the nation in 2001,” said Urmila in her complaint.
Rewari SP Manbir Sheoran confirmed that the woman had filed a complaint with his office seeking probe into the matter. Neither HUDA administrator Anita Yadav nor Estate Officer Vijay Rathi could be contacted, despite repeated attempts.
