London: The skeleton of Napoleon Bonaparte's Arab stallion Marengo is being remounted for new display at London's National Army Museum. For almost two centuries, crude iron bars and rusted bolts were holding together the skeleton of one of the world's most famous little grey Arab stallions. Marengo repeatedly carried Napoleon to victory in battle and finally into the last defeat at Waterloo in 1815. IANS
Bicycle made from discarded golf clubs
London: A design student in the UK has constructed a lightweight bicycle from abandoned golf clubs to highlight how middle-aged men are shifting to cycling. "I noticed a lot of golf clubs were closing…. I came up with the idea of producing a representation of the way social sport has evolved for the 21st century's middle-aged men," said Calum Ray, a graphic design student from Kingston University London. First law on traditional Chinese medicine
Beijing: The first law on traditional Chinese medicine has been adopted, which allows doctors and hospitals to practice it without seeking government permission from July 1, 2017. Only medical staff with specialised skills will be allowed to practice it. Traditional Chinese medical doctors are normally named after their masters, which makes it difficult to evaluate their performance solely on exams. IANS
New diaper alerts caregivers when it's wet
Tokyo: Scientists in Japan have developed a new urine-powered sensor that can alert caregivers when a diaper is wet and ready to be changed. The sensors use a urine-activated battery and a transmitter which can beam its signal up to 16 feet away. The research was published in the IEEE Sensors Journal. PTI
