Rare trees cultivated as ‘insurance policy’

Sydney: Australia’s New South Wales (NSW) state is cultivating the rare Wollemi Pine or the “dinosaur tree” as an “insurance policy” for the sustenance of the fragile species. Previously thought to have been extinct for two million years and only known from fossil records, Wollemi Pine was discovered in 1994 at a remote canyon in the state’s Blue Mountains region. World Food Prize goes to economist, doctor

Des Moines (US): The World Food Prize is being awarded this year to two men credited with helping reduce by 10 million the world's number of children stunted from malnourishment between 2012 and 2017.
