London: A year-long campaign by an activist to get 'upskirting'-secretly taking pictures up women's skirts-banned under a British law was sabotaged by Tory MP Sir Christopher Chope during a debate in UK Parliament on Friday. The 26-year-old activist herself became a victim of 'upskirting' at a festival last July. People convicted of "upskirting" would be placed on the sex offender register once the law is approved by Parliament. Sir Chope shouted 'object' and was able to stop the law from being approved. PM Theresa May tweeted she was 'disappointed' but promised she would get the bill through another way. Agencies
Judge denies request for Stormy Daniels gag order
Los Angeles: An American federal judge rejected a request by Donald Trump’s ex-personal lawyer for a gag order to stop the attorney for adult film actress Stormy Daniels insulting him and talking about the case in media appearances. US District Judge S James Otero said Michael Cohen had failed to provide evidence that he would suffer ‘irreparable injury’ without an immediate restraining order against Michael Avenatti. Cohen filed his bid for a restraining order against Avenatti, asking that he be stopped from giving interviews about Cohen and Daniels’ lawsuit. afp
