London: Britain's senior diplomat in Bali has been suspended, the Foreign Office confirmed on Sunday, after a report of an affair with a drugs prisoner. The Mail on Sunday newspaper reported that Alys Harahap was suspended over a relationship with Julian Ponder, a Briton serving time in the Indonesian island's notorious Kerobokan prison for possession of cocaine. Egypt deports jailed Australian Al Jazeera reporter 

Cairo: Egypt on Sunday ordered the deportation of jailed Australian journalist, who spent more than a year behind bars over charges of supporting the outlawed Muslim Brotherhood, state media reported. Peter Greste, 50, was sentenced to seven years in prison along with two fellow Al-Jazeera journalists. He was released after President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi signed a decree allowing his deportation. pti

US toddler playing with gun shoots parents

Houston: A three-year-old boy playing with a handgun accidentally shot his father and pregnant mother in a hotel room in New Mexico. The boy removed the handgun from his mother's purse on Saturday and fired one shot, striking his father in the lower back. The bullet apparently exited through the father's hip and hit the mother, who was eight months pregnant, in the right shoulder. PTI
