Yousuf’s arrest pure vendetta, says Mirwaiz
Srinagar, October 25
Expressing concern over the plight of Kashmiri prisoners lodged in various prisons in and outside the J&K, the moderate Hurriyat headed by Mirwaiz Umar Farooq on Wednesday said that in the absence of basic facilities, a majority of the “resistance leaders and activists” lodged in various prisons were facing a tough time.
In a statement, the Hurriyat spokesman said separatist leaders, including Shabir Ahmed Shah and Altaf Fantoosh, and businessman Zahoor Ahmed Watali languishing in Delhi’s Tihar Jail and others lodged in Srinagar Central Jail were facing problems due to the callous attitude of the jail authorities.
Condemning the arrest of Syed Salahuddin’s son Shahid Yousuf, the spokesman termed the move as “pure political vendetta”. — TNS
