Construction work of open air theatre, auditorium on in full swing
The construction work of open air theatre and auditorium is going on in full swing.
These development projects are being built by the Municipal Corporation, Yamunanagar-Jagadhri (MCYJ) at one place near Arjun Nagar Colony at Sector 17 in Jagadhri at a cost of Rs 52.87 crore.These projects are expected to be completed in 18 months.
As per available information, the work on the boundary wall of the open air theatre and auditorium has been completed.The work of laying the foundations, installing pillars and other construction works of the buildings has been completed.
Now, the preparations of laying lintel/concrete slabs of the buildings are being done.
Municipal Commissioner Ayush Sinha said with the construction of the auditorium and open air theatre, many cultural programmes would be conducted here.
He said the construction of these development works was being done under Divya Nagar Yojana.
“The indoor auditorium will have a seating arrangement for 1,000 people in an air-conditioned environment. At the same time, 500 people can enjoy cultural programmes and street plays simultaneously in the open air theatre,” said Ayush Sinha.
He said there would be parking arrangements at the entrance and backyard of the open air theatre and it would have a parking capacity for 200 cars.
“There will be an open air theatre in the front, which will have a stage under the open sky and seating arrangement for 500 people in front of it. Along with the stage, there will be makeup and other rooms for the artistes,” said Sinha.
“It will have a VIP room, conference room and other rooms. The hall and all rooms will be air-conditioned for indoor programmes. Apart from this, there will be CCTV cameras installed with greenery in the open air theatre and auditorium,” said Ayush Sinha.
On August 13, 2024, Chief Minister Nayab Singh Saini laid the foundation stone of the auditorium and the open air theatre through video-conferencing from Panchkula.
On December 2, 2024, Haryana Agriculture, Fisheries and Animal Husbandry Minister Shyam Singh Rana started its construction work by performing Bhoomi Pujan and laying the foundation stone.
