Deepshikha, who shared a rickshaw with the boy shortly before the incident, told the media that he was visibly shaken when he rushed into the vehicle.

“I bring my ward home from the school in a rickshaw every day. On the afternoon of November 18, when I had just sat in the rickshaw with my son, he suddenly came running and quickly got in. He kept telling the driver to go faster. He looked very disturbed,” she said.

“When I asked him what had happened, he replied, ‘you should withdraw your son from the school’,” she said. He further said ‘My board exams are coming up, and the teachers torture me a lot. I can’t even explain how much. My parents are called to the school again and again’,” the woman added.

The 15-year-old later jumped from Platform No. 2 at the Rajendra Place Metro station. The boy left behind a suicide note, accusing his teachers of harassment and sought strict action against them, according to the FIR.

The incident has sparked anger and grief among parents and students, who protested outside the school, demanding accountability.

Delhi Education Minister Ashish Sood on Friday said the government had formed an inquiry committee. “We have formed an investigation committee, and the school has also taken action against the teachers. I see this not only as the Education Minister, but also as a parent concerned,” he said.

The Minister said he would write to schools asking whether they are complying with CBSE guidelines on monitoring students’ mental health. The school has suspended four staff members, while the police are investigating the case.
