Himachal: Kangra BJP demands action against Pakistan nationals, submits memo
As part of a statewide campaign, senior BJP leaders from Kangra, led by state general secretary Trilok Kapoor, submitted a memorandum to the state government through the Deputy Commissioner, demanding immediate action against Pakistan nationals residing in the state—both legally and illegally. The memorandum urged the government to swiftly identify such individuals and initiate their expulsion within a stipulated time frame.
Addressing the media later at a press conference in Dharamsala, Kapoor condemned the recent barbaric and cowardly attack on civilians in Pahalgam by cross-border sponsored terrorists. He assured that the BJP would not let the sacrifices of innocent citizens go in vain and expressed confidence that the Centre would deal firmly with terrorists and their protectors.
Kapoor highlighted several punitive measures already taken by the Centre, including the closure of the Attari-Wagah border, cancellation of Indian visas issued to Pakistani citizens and the proposed termination of the Indus Water Treaty. He issued a stern warning to Pakistan nationals residing illegally in India, urging them to leave the country within 48 hours, as per the directives of the government.
Prominent BJP leaders present on the occasion included former minister Sarveen Chaudhary, former Nagrota Bagwan MLA Arun Mehra, state spokesperson Rakesh Sharma, district president Sachin Sharma and state media co-incharge Vishwa Chakshu.
