Paying tribute to Baba Lakhi Shah Vanjara, CM Nayab Singh Saini today announced that the government would beautify Baba Lakhi Shah Bawdi, located at Ishargarh village of Kurukshetra district.

A community centre would also be constructed in his name in the village, and a statue would be installed. For this, Rs 31 lakh and Rs 11 lakh, respectively, would be given on behalf of Cabinet minister Krishan Lal Panwar and minister Arti Singh Rao.

Saini made the announcements while addressing a state-level function at his residence on the occasion of Baba Lakhi Shah Vanjara Jayanti.

While extending greetings to people of the state on the occasion, the Chief Minister said Baba Vanjara was a devoted Sikh and a brave warrior who fought against the Mughals and etched an immortal saga in Sikh history through his sacrifice.
