Two Bihar men held for murder in Samba

The Samba Police have solved a blind murder case registered last year at the Bari Brahmana Police Station, arresting two accused along with recovering the weapon and vehicle used in the crime.

The incident took place on Diwali, November 1 last year, when Sushil Singh Manhas (29), a resident of Smailpur, was stabbed by unknown assailants who fled the spot after committing the crime.

The victim was rushed to GMC Jammu, where doctors declared him brought dead.

Following this, a case was registered under Section 103(1) of the BNS, and an investigation was initiated.

During the course of the investigation, a team led by the Bari Brahmana SHO identified and arrested one suspect, Jalil Nutt (25), a resident of Bihar’s Gopalganj district. Upon sustained interrogation, Nutt revealed the identity of a second accused, Mohammad Azad (20), also a resident of Bihar. Azad was later apprehended by the police from Gujarat.

During questioning, both accused confessed to their involvement in the murder. Based on Azad’s disclosure, the weapon of offence — a Chinese-made pair of scissors — was recovered. Additionally, a scooty bearing registration number JK02BM 7356, used during the commission of the crime, was also seized.

Police have confirmed that further investigation in the case is ongoing.
