Talking to ‘The Tribune’, Rajesh Tripathi said, “I had gone to the rickshaw stand, where the district administration has planned to organise a ‘langar’ (community kitchens) tomorrow during the Maghi Mela. Two people were lying there in blankets. Upon seeing me there, some women immediately fled the spot. I had some prior information that these people were drug peddlers. When they were frisked, some banned pills, capsules and poppy husk were seized from them. I have asked the SSP to take legal action against them. Besides, they have been handed over to the police.”

The DC further said he had further warned the police officials patrolling there to remain vigilant in future or he would recommend action against them as well.
