22 qtl poppy husk seized in Bathinda

The Bathinda police today claimed to have arrested two persons with 22 quintals of poppy husk. The suspects have been identified as Sukhdev Singh of Moga and Surjit Singh of Ludhiana. Bathinda SSP Harmanbir Singh Gill, while addressing mediapersons, said on the basis of a tip-off to a CIA Staff-2 team, 110 bags of poppy seeds (amounting to 22 quintals) were recovered from a truck on Ring Road in Bathinda. The accused brought the poppy husk from Kota in Rajasthan, he added.
The suspects were produced before the court, which remanded the duo in police custody.
