A three-year-old girl was mowed down by a school van at Hamirgarh village near Bhagta Bhai Ka in Bathinda. The deceased was later identified as Avneet Kaur. Former sarpanch Gurmel Singh said they had requested school van operators to drive slowly in the village, but to no avail. He said the child died due to negligence of the driver. — TNS
