He said, “Establishing a high dependency unit with 10-12 beds, which will function as an adhoc ICU for intermediary period before patients are transferred to a regular hospital for the treatment is on the cards. Shifting MBBS college to Bathinda from Guru Gobind Singh Medical College, Faridkot, is a main priority. The CT scan and MRI facilities are likely to commence within a month. A state-of-the-art sports complex, mess, reading room and library and operationalising the ‘Ayushman Bharat’ scheme will be among our top priorities.”
He said construction activity had come to a halt due to shortage of labourers, but things were getting back to normal.
Dr Dinesh said schemes aimed for patients of haemophilia, thalassemia and the Janani Suraksha Yojana (safe motherhood programme), among others, would be introduced at the AIIMS, Bathinda.
