BFC students excel in exams
Bathinda: As many as 12 students of Baba Farid College (BFC) bagged positions in the merit list of examinations conducted by Punjabi University recently. Sabreet Kaur bagged first position in BBA Semester II, Sukhveer Kaur bagged first merit position in both BBA Semester IV and Semester VI, Manpreet got fifth position in Semester IV and Veerpal Kaur bagged seventh positions in Semester VI. Among students of MCom (2015-17 batch) Gagandeep Kaur, Anjali Goyal and Amandeep Kaur have bagged first, fourth and sixth positions, respectively. TNS
Man booked for Rs 8-Lakh fraud
Bathinda: The Muktsar (City) police have booked Bachittar Singh Bhatti of Amritsar for allegedly duping a local resident of Rs 8 lakh on the pretext of getting him a job in the Railways. Complainant Gaurav, a resident of Gandhi Nagar, told the police that Bhatti took the money from him by promising to get him recruited as travelling ticket examiner (TTE) with the Railways. “He also readied some fake documents for the purpose,” alleged the complainant. A case under Sections 420, 467, 468 and 471 of the IPC has been registered. TNS
