Bathinda: Four students of BSc Biotech from Baba Farid College (BFC) made it to the merit list of the sixth semester examinations, the results of which were announced by Punjabi University recently. Vanita and Pankaj Garg bagged first and second positions, respectively. Jeevanjot Arora and Bhupinder Singh bagged fourth and fifth positions, respectively. Dawinder Sidhu bagged the first position in the fourth semester exams. College principal Dr Pardeep Kaura said, “Innovative teaching methodologies and state-of-the-art laboratories have helped students perform well in exams.” BFGI chairman Dr Gurmeet Singh Dhaliwal congratulated the students, teachers and the principal. Ban on gathering near exam centres

Muktsar: Using his power enshrined under Section 144 of the CrPC, Additional District Magistrate Sandeep Kumar on Saturday imposed a ban on the gathering of five or more persons near the examination centres set up by the CBSE. He said the orders would remain in force till March 30. He said violators would be dealt strictly as per the law. TNS

Industrial visit to Cement plant

Bathinda: The SSD Women’s Institute of Technology organised an industrial visit to Ambuja Cements Limited here on Saturday. As many as 40 students from the Management Department, along with three faculty members, visited the plant. PAGE 2
