Pathela said the construction work on the Muktsar-Ferozepur highway has been stalled for a long time, causing inconvenience to daily commuters and affecting regional connectivity. He also flagged the delay in the construction of a bridge over the Chandbhan drain at Rupana village on the Muktsar-Malout road, which has been pending for several months.

“Gadkari ji immediately instructed his staff to direct the concerned officials to expedite work on both projects within a week,” Pathela said after the meeting on Wednesday.

He expressed hope that the Union Minister’s assurance would lead to swift action on the ground. Pathela added that the timely completion of these projects would significantly boost road infrastructure and benefit residents, farmers, and trade across the region.

Both projects are considered critical for easing traffic and supporting development in the district.
