Bathinda, February 18

Members of the Punjab Student Union (PSU) on Tuesday staged a protest against the CAA outside Government Rajindra College here on Tuesday. The protesters raised slogans against the Union Government and took out a protest march from the college gate to the District Administrative Complex. They submitted a demand letter to the Assistant Commissioner. Even students of Government Polytechnic College were also present.

Punjab Student Union state leader Sangeeta Rani said the protest was being held throughout the country on the CAA. To remove obstacles in implementing its agenda, the BJP brought this and got it passed because of its majority in the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha.

PSU district leader Kiranjit Kaur said attacks on students in JNU, Jamia and Aligarh Muslim University were proof of the government tactics to suppress the protest and even many had been arrested. She said the train, named Mahakal, started a few days ago clearly indicated the government’s Hindutva agenda. College committee leaders Gurbaksish Singh and Veerpal Kaur said people’s power was supreme and agitating people would never allow the RSS to succeed in its Hindu nation theory. — TNS
