City gets advanced robotic machine for eye patients

“With robotic component, instead of traditional technologies, in place for performing eye procedures, surgeries has become seamless, predictable and safer than before and is approved by the best ophthalmic medical bodies from USA to South Korea,” said Dr Kashish Gupta, Head of Department of Ophthalmology, and lead robotic eye surgeon at Max Hospital in city.

Dr Kashish was speaking at a press conference that was organised at the hospital on Friday. He said: “To provide quality patient care to the people of Malwa region, we have introduced a state-of-the-art robotic machine, Femto Z8 LDV, in the hospital. It is the fastest laser eye platform in the world. It has the best safety profile because of low pulse laser that dramatically minimises any side effect or potential damage to a patient’s eye.”

“Such sophisticated medical equipment needs advance training and skill to handle,” said Dr Kashish Gupta. Now that the technology has been introduced in the Malwa region, our prime focus will be to make sure that it is cost-competitive in comparison to any metro city in India,” added Dr Kashish.

General manager (operations) of the Max Group Dr Harman Loona lauded the efforts of the ophthalmology department of the hospital in serving the people of the region.
