Contests highlight ill-effects of drug abuse

Buddys’ group of SSD Girls’ College organised various competitions like poster making, slogan writing, speech and poetry recitation here on Friday. The competitions were aimed at spreading awareness about drug menace among students.

The event was organised under the guidance of principal Dr Parminder Kaur Tanghi and Buddy’ programme nodal officer Dr Suman Bawa. Students of BA part I, II and final year participated in the competitions with great zeal.

Dr Anju Garg, Monika Kapoor and Khushneel Kaur welcomed the dignitaries. Eight students of BA first year performed a skit based on menace of drug addiction. Four students, Banshika, Rajpal, Suriti and Aarushi, participated in speech contest and three others, Pooja, Navneet, Vaishali, participated in poetry recitation competition.

The college president Advocate Sanjay Goyal, senior vice-president Parmod Maheshwary among others appreciated students for their active participation. Various staff members were present during the event.
