Ensure safety of schoolkids, finance minister tells administration

In the wake of the tragic incident that claimed the lives of four school children at Longowal in Sangrur district on Saturday, Finance Minister Manpreet Badal on Sunday instructed the DC and the SSP, Bathinda, to ensure the safety of schoolchildren, especially those travelling in buses and vans.

The Finance Minister asked both the officials to hold talks with school managements in the district in this regard. Terming the incident as very unfortunate, he said, “We all must ensure that precautionary measures are taken by the authorities so that such incidents do not take place in future,” said Badal.

He added, “Strict actions are required so that all the schools comply with the necessary instructions in this regard. I appeal to parents inspect the school vans personally. For any assistance or complaints, parents can reach his office or directly approach the SSP office.”
