Bathinda, March 2
Students from various colleges of Bathinda, Muktsar, Faridkot and Fazilka districts took part in a quiz organised by the department of geography of Baba Farid College (BFC), in collaboration with the Association of Punjab Geographers.
Faculty members from various colleges and heads of various departments of BFC were present on the occasion. The first round of the quiz had a written examination and teams of Government Rajindra College (GRC), Bathinda; Government Brijindra College, Faridkot; Shaheed Bhagat Singh College, Kotkapura; Guru Kashi College (GKC), Talwandi Sabo; Baba Siri Chand Ji Government College, Sardargarh; MR Government College, Fazilka; and BFC took part. In the second round and the final round, there were five sub-rounds. The team of GKC bagged first position and two teams from GRC secured second and third position, respectively.
Pradeep Kaura, the principal of BFC, apprised student sof the importance of geography in daily life and its position among other social sciences. Deepinder Singh Brar, the dean of the faculty of arts, discussed various aspects of geography with the faculty members of the geography department of BFC.
