Illegal constructions going on unabated at Dhobiana Basti

Despite curfew restrictions, illegal constructions are going on unabated in the Dhobiana Basti area of the city.

During its visit, the Bathinda Tribune team was surprised to see construction work going on there during the curfew restrictions. Apart from this, even a large number of people were seen roaming and playing in a street outside their houses in the Dhobiana area.

This incident has brought to the fore dirty politics behind the mushrooming of illegal politics in the city. It is always seen whichever party remains in the party, its local leaders allow their supporters to do such illegal work just to consolidate their vote bank at a time when the police and the administration are busy in maintaining law and order.

Moreover, in city as well, people can be seen roaming and when the police deployed at main chowks stop them, they give lame excuses that they have come out to buy medicines or are going to get their check-up done.

It is also seen that strict action is only take against the violator when the IGP or the SSP or other senior officials is present on the spot, whereas in their absence, residents are left to go.
