Indian Idol contestant Sunny got a rousing welcome here on Thursday. Sunny, along with hundreds of residents, took out a roadshow in the city and exhorted them to cast vote in his favour to make him win the singing reality show.
A cavalcade of Sunny’s supporters started the roadshow from the Fire Brigade chowk. It passed through Dhobi Bazaar and Amrik Singh Road before reaching Mittal Mall where he addressed a press conference. He mesmerised everyone by his singing performance. The mall was already jam-packed with his supporters when Sunny reached there.
Sunny’s mother and sisters, along with other relatives, were also present on the occasion. They urged everyone to cast their vote in his favour so that he could win the singing reality show. Meanwhile, traffic jams were reported from some areas during the roadshow.
Sunny, who is among the top six performers of the reality show, reached the city for the first time after appearing on the show to seek support from his home state.
Expressing gratitude towards his supporters, he said he could not have made it to this position without the unconditional support and love showered upon him by his supporters. Sunny has already sung two songs in two Bollywood films and has been getting more offers.
“When I left home for the auditions, I only knew very few songs and there was no preparation from my side and after having failed in my earlier attempts, I had to urge my mother to let me participate in the auditions. And with the grace of God, my voice got recognition,” said Sunny.
