Influencer Kamal Kaur Bhabhi’s follower count on the rise even after her murder

Two days after the murder of social media influencer Kanchan Kumari, popularly known as Kamal Kaur Bhabhi, there’s a significant surge in her online popularity.

In the past two days, over 20,000 new followers have joined her Instagram account, taking the follower count from 3.83 lakh to 4.04 lakh. Her Facebook following rose from 1.74 lakh to 1.79 lakh, while her YouTube channel subscribers increased from 2.36 lakh to 2.7 lakh.

She used to upload "bold, humourous and abusive" content on her social media accounts.

According to the police, Kamal Kaur was lured to Bathinda under the pretext of a promotional video event. She was later found murdered inside her car at a parking lot outside Adesh University on Wednesday night.

Apart from terrorist Arsh Dalla, self-styled vigilante ‘Nihang’ Amritpal Singh Mehron had objected to her content and her use of the word “Kaur” in her screen name. Mehron has issued warnings in the past to content creators, including Kanchan, accusing them of spreading vulgarity.
