Man dies of ‘chitta’ at Badal village, family seeks action
Balwinder had been reportedly missing since Sunday, and his body was found in vacant plots along the Bathinda road on the outskirts of the village on Monday
A 32-year-old man, Balwinder Singh, allegedly died of ‘chitta’ (heroin) at Badal village here on Monday.
Balwinder had been reportedly missing since Sunday, and his body was found in vacant plots along the Bathinda road on the outskirts of the village on Monday.
His father, Nachhattar Singh, a former member of the village panchayat, said, “My son had a matrimonial dispute and the vase was listed for a hearing on Monday, but he consumed ‘chitta’. We had earlier admitted him to a de-addiction centre as well. We want action against those who sell ‘chitta’ in the village. It is easily available, but the cops are not registering a case.”
On the other hand, ASI Harjeet Singh said that a case would be registered as per the family’s statement and the post-mortem report.
