Army Public School (APS), Bathinda, organised an annual sports meet, ‘Jamboree’ on its sprawling grounds amidst great zeal and sporting action on the final day of five-day event on Saturday.
The central appointees of student council, NCC cadets and contingents of the four houses of school, participated in impressive and well synchronised march past. The main highlights of the ceremony were welcome dance, mass PT, duck race, roll the ball and go to school. As the tiny tots of APS ran for the finishing line, the school playground reverberated with enthusiastic cheers from the spectators.
Athletics activities such as 100 m race, relay race, shot put, discus throw, long jump and some spectacular dance performances highlighting the theme, ‘celebration of life’ were conducted.
Participation by principal and staff members in events like relay race and tug-of-war garnered great applause and cheers from the students. The event came to a grand and successful conclusion on November 30.
The school patron and chairman gave away prizes to the school toppers of Class X and Class XII, who cracked NTSE, winners of sporting events and the faculty members on completion of their 20 years in school.
He congratulated the school principal, Anisha Ghuman, and the staff for the successful organisation of the meet. He also encouraged the students to keep putting in their best in both academics and co-curricular activities. The head girl proposed the vote of thanks and a foot tapping bhangra followed by national anthem marked the end of the programme.
