Migrant labourer kills man after altercation

Hoshiarpur, November 26

As per information, Inspector Dilbag Singh, in-charge of the Hariana police station, said Ashok Kumar, a resident of Basi Ballo village, has filed a complaint with the police in this regard.

The complainant told the police that his uncle Kasturi Lal (70), who was unmarried, used to look after a religious place near the village. He used to rest in a room of Naresh Kumar, the owner of a poultry farm, built near the religious site during the night. Ashok told the police that for the past few days, Ravi Kumar, a migrant labourer, was also staying in the room. He said Ravi was an alcoholic. On Monday night, the suspect had an altercation with his uncle after which he murdered him with a sharp weapon and escaped from the place.

Inspector Dilbag Singh said the police had handed over the victim’s body to his kin after a post-mortem examination. A case has been registered under Section 302 of the IPC. — OC
