MRSPTU students shine at Jaipur design event

Two students of Maharaja Ranjit Singh Punjab Technical University (MRSPTU) have won a special recognition award at the north-zone design competition, Transparence-2019, held at Jaipur recently. The award was won by Harmandeep Singh and Kartar Singh, students of Bachelor of Architecture (V), Giani Zail Singh School of Architecture and Planning.

The event was organised by the Saint-Gobain Glass India and supported by the Ethos in which more than 1,000 students from northern India had participated.

The theme for this year’s design competition was “Railport- Future ready”. The project site was the Anand Vihar Junction Station of the Indian Railways. The aim of the design competition was to design a railway station which could help users through improved circulation and decrease conflict areas, thereby making it effective and efficient landmark public area.

The evaluation criteria of the design competition was concept and design intent, originality, area program, hierarchy of space, efficient use of space, use of renewable resources such as water and energy and translation of concept to final design.

The jury for the same was Sanjiv Tandon, Bimal Kachroo and Tushar Sogani. The winning team of students was awarded with appreciation certificates.
