Talwandi Sabo Power Limited (TSPL) observed the 31st Road Safety Week from January 11 to January 17 to enhance awareness on road safety. The week began with distribution of reflective stickers for two-wheelers and road safety car hangings among passenger vehicles. On the second day of the safety week, a training session for TSPL employees and business partners was conducted by Vikas Sharma, chief executive officer and director of the TSPL.

All heavy vehicles such as ash bulkers were inspected to during the drive. A road safety training was imparted to 30 ash-carrying bulker drivers, helpers and passenger vehicle drivers by Vijay Kumar Tata, general manager (HSE), STEAG, and Pradeep Kumar Pradhan, head (HSE), STEAG. At the end of the training, T-shirts were distributed among drivers.

The TSPL also reached out to government schools in surrounding villages to impart road safety awareness to students.

With 356 million young people in the country, India has one of the youngest populations in an aging world. As per a report by the WHO, road accidents are the leading cause of deaths of persons aged from 5 to 29 worldwide.
