SBI holds mega loan camp

Bathinda: The State Bank of India (SBI) on Thursday organised a mega credit and social security camp at Hilton Castle Hotel in Bathinda. SBI general manager Subhash Joinwal was chief guest on the occasion. The bank disbursed Rs1.31 crore Mudra loans, Rs51 lakh to self-help groups, Rs1.35 crore agri gold loans and Rs1.10 crore under the Stand Up India scheme. Subhash Joinwal said: “Our bank has created a network to provide easy credit facility to socially backward and economically-weaker sections of society.” He said they were making efforts to reach out to rural areas and make people aware of various schemes such as the Start-up India, Stand-up India, Atal Pension Yojna, etc. He said the bank was organising bank adalat at all branches on Friday, in which those who had not paid their loan, but were willing to do so, could visit their branch and settle the loan at lower amount. Auditions for Vibgyor today

Bathinda: Auditions for the 8th International Fest, Vibgyor-20, will be held at Baba Farid campus on Friday. Organisers said students would compete for titles such as ‘Mr and miss Vibgyor-20’, ‘Vibgyor idol (solo singing)’ and ‘Dancing star (solo dance)’. Auditions for the competitions would be held at Baba Farid Campus, Bathinda, on Friday. Students from matriculation to post graduation can participate in the competitions. Winners of ‘Mr Vibgyor’ and ‘Miss Vibgyor’ titles will be awarded with Rs31,000 and gift hampers. First position holders in ‘Vibgyor idol (solo singing)’ and ‘Dancing star (solo dance)’ would be awarded with Rs21,000 and gifts. TNS

Student shines in vedic maths

Bathinda: Yash, a Class II student of Saint Kabir Convent School, has brought laurels to the city by bagging Rank A in the national-level Abacus and Vedic Maths competition held in New Delhi. Yash was awarded with Rs5,100 cash prize, a winning trophy and certificate for his excellent performance. The managing director of the school, Prof ML Arora, principal Anju Dogra and headmistress Sonia Dhawan congratulated Yash on her success and wished her luck for future competitions. TNS
