SAD chief Sukhbir Singh Badal, who is presently staying indoors at his residence in Badal village here, interacted with senior party leaders, incharges of Assembly constituencies and SAD-BJP MLAs who represent his Ferozepur constituency through a video conference on Sunday evening.
The party leaders apprised the SAD president of the ground situation and problems being faced by residents.
The Ferozepur parliamentary constituency has nine Assembly constituencies — Ferozepur (City), Ferozepur (Rural), Malout, Muktsar, Abohar, Fazilka, Balluana, Jalalabad and Guruharsahai.
Sources said Sukhbir directed the party leaders to ensure that not even a single person in their respective areas sleep hungry.
“Sukhbir told the party leaders that if they also face any problem, they can contact him anytime. He further told them that he would speak to the officers concerned, but not even a single person should sleep hungry. He has also announced Rs1 crore from the MPLAD funds for providing ventilators in his constituency,” said the sources.
They said, “The party leaders informed him about a shortage of grocery items and the issue of black marketing at some places. They also highlighted the problems being faced by farmers and traders. Besides, they informed him that daily wagers were awaiting assistance from the state government in many areas. On this, Sukhbir told them to refrain from petty politics and do their best for the welfare of public.”
Notably, Sukhbir is spending time with his family members. All of his family members, including his father Parkash Singh Badal, wife Harsimrat Kaur Badal and three children, are staying at their residence in Badal village.
Notably, Parkash Singh Badal is also in touch with some senior party leaders and cluster incharges of his Lambi Assembly constituency. He is getting ground reports from them. Apart from close family members, no one is allowed to visit the Badal family these days.
