After recovery of fake pesticides during a raid at a godown in Balluana village by the the Agricultural Department on Tuesday, the Bathinda (Sadar) police have registered a case against two persons.

The case has been registered against Naresh Mangla and Rajiv Mittal, both residents of Bathinda. However, no arrests have been made as of now. Raids were also conducted by the Balluana police on Wednesday to arrest the suspects.

It is learnt that they had taken a godown on lease to set up a factory, but as the factory did do well, they started storing fake pesticides here. The Balluana village panchayat had informed the Agriculture Department about preparation of fake pesticides in the godown, acting on which, a raid was conducted and material used to prepare fake pesticides was seized. The Agriculture Department took four samples of seized pesticides and sent these to lab for the testing.
