Earlier, she had been arrested on April 2 after 17.71 g heroin were allegedly recovered from her Thar jeep during a police check on Badal Road in Bathinda. At the time of her arrest by the vigilance bureau, she was out on bail in the case registered under the NDPS Act.

A senior Vigilance Bureau officer stated, “We need Amandeep Kaur’s custody in the disproportionate assets case registered against her at the Bathinda Vigilance police station. The Vigilance Bureau has requested the Bathinda jail authorities to conduct a physical examination and issue a medical fitness certificate so that we can seek her custody from the court.”

After her arrest by the vigilance bureau, a court sent Amandeep to the Vigilance Bureau’s custody for two days for questioning on May 27. However, the investigation was halted after she developed abdominal pain and was hospitalised. Later, she was sent to judicial custody.

According to the investigation, Amandeep Kaur accumulated assets worth approximately Rs 1.5 crore, significantly exceeding her known sources of income between 2018 and 2025. The Bathinda district police have frozen her properties, including two Thar jeeps, a motorcycle, a residence, a residential plot, three phones, a Rolex watch, and her bank accounts, in connection with the case registered under the NDPS Act.
