Wanted for forging marriage certificate, suspect held after 15 years

Sriganganagar police have arrested a man who was reportedly absconding for a long time.

He is accused of obtaining a fake marriage certificate from the Arya Samaj Mandir in Delhi and misusing it.

The case was registered in 2010, and the accused had been continuously eluding police custody.

Superintendent of Police Dr Amrita Duhan said that the arrested accused is Parvinder Singh, a resident of Prem Nagar, Anupgarh.

A report was filed by a man at the Anupgarh police station on March 13, 2010, alleging that Parvinder Singh had not married his daughter but fraudulently obtained a fake marriage certificate from the Arya Samaj Mandir in Delhi.

The accused misused the certificate at various places, causing serious damage to the social reputation and image of his family.

Police registered a case under Sections 420, 467, 468, and 471 of the IPC. The accused subsequently fled, and several police teams attempted to apprehend him, but without success.

Acting on a tip-off, a special team formed under the leadership of Anupgarh Police Station in-charge Inspector Ishwar Prasad traced the accused's location and arrested him.
