Work to improve infra at 6 govt schools begins

Bathinda, December 21

Finance Minister Manpreet Singh Badal performed a groundbreaking ceremony of project regarding infrastructure development of six government schools in the city on Saturday. Manpreet also sanctioned a grant of Rs10.18 crore for renovation and construction of classrooms and other infrastructure in government schools.

The infrastructure at Government High School, Ghaniya Nagar; Government Elem School, Hazi Ratan; Government Senior Secondary School, Dhobiana; Government Primary and High School, Lal Singh Basti; Government Deshraj Elementary School, Kujanwala Mohalla; Government Deshraj Senior Secondary School, Kikkar Bazaar, will be improved under the project.

The Finance Minister said: “We have always considered educational infrastructure as a priority. We have issued a grant of Rs10.18 crore for the construction of new buildings, renovation and infrastructural enhancements at government schools. Infrastructure in four government schools has been revamped already.”

As a part of the project, new classrooms, principal’s rooms, toilets, ramps, science labs and computer labs will be developed in government schools.
