‘Youngsters must become watchdog of moral values’

Diljeetpal Singh Brar, MLA from Burrows, Winnipeg, Canada, who is in the town these days, is meeting people here and urging them to bring a change in society.

While talking to The Tribune on Friday, Diljeet said: “I am meeting people in Muktsar and the neighbouring towns and holding motivational lectures. I am urging people to bring a change in the society. In Canada, there is no political interference in schools, police and bureaucracy. As lawmakers and citizens, we need to realise our accountability. The youngsters should take the responsibility and become a watchdog of moral values to bring a change in society.”

“Many youngsters ask me ways to go abroad. If they have an illusion that life is easy in the foreign countries and there is no need of struggle, they need to be guided properly,” he added.

Diljeet migrated to Canada in 2010 along with his wife. He and his wife are alumni of the Punjab Agricultural University (PAU), Ludhiana. Diljeet has also served as an assistant professor in the Department of Extension Education of the PAU.

Diljeet is the director of Bulla Arts International in Canada, which is an overall development academy for kids. It organises annual talent shows and teaches bhangra and giddha to kids.
