The victim, identified as Dipak, is believed to be the nephew of gangster Manjit Mahal, he said, adding that the case seems to be of gangwar between Kapil Sangwan (Nandu) gang and Manjit Mahal gang. Dipak was on a morning walk with his 10-year-old daughter when he was shot dead by unidentified assailants, a senior police officer said.

“Dipak, who sustained multiple bullet injuries, died on the spot. His daughter received a gunshot wound on her hand. She was taken to a hospital and is stated to be out of danger,” the officer added. A case has been registered and teams have been formed to nab the attackers. The motive behind the shooting is yet to be ascertained, the police said.
