Encroachment drive in Bhuna gets public support as civic body team takes action

In a firm move to clear city roads, the Municipal Committee of Bhuna of Fatehabad launched an anti-encroachment drive on Monday, targeting illegal structures across key areas like Fatehabad Road, Kulan Road, Tohana Road, Old Bazaar, and New Bazaar. Before the operation, shopkeepers were issued notices and given verbal warnings. As a result, most voluntarily removed iron sheds, banners and other materials placed outside their shops. However, a few resisted, citing connections with political figures. Their encroaching items were seized on the spot. The initiative, aimed at improving traffic flow and ensuring public convenience. The drive received support from local citizens, thanks to coordination between elected representatives and the administration.

Setting an example, Municipal Vice-Chairman Narendra Bagri and councillor representative Baljit Soni actively took part in the drive. Both removed the iron sheds from their own establishments, encouraging other shopkeepers to follow suit.

Led by Municipal Secretary Deepak Kumar, the team included accountant Rohtas Kumar, Krishan Kumar Chimpa, Bhoop Singh, Ravinder Kumar, Sonu Verma, and Sunil Kumar Sarbata. They inspected all main roads and markets, taking action wherever encroachments were found.

Officials made it clear that the campaign would continue in the coming days. Strict action would be taken against repeat offenders.
