Several booked for rash driving in Shimla

Several individuals have been booked for rash driving and for endangering safety of others following a video clip of them performing dangerous stunts on a motorbike and a Scooty went viral in Shimla.

According to the police, a video clip, that was reportedly shot a few days ago, went viral on various social media platforms, in which riders were seen driving two-wheelers recklessly in various locations in Shimla including Sanjauli, Dhalli, on the National Highway No. 5 in Malyana and the Shanan areas.

The video drew flak from the people on social media and was also reported to the police. Taking prompt action, the police registered a case against riders under Section 281 and 125 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) 2023 and initiated an investigation into the matter.

Confirming the report, police officials said legal proceedings had been initiated against individuals involved in reckless driving. The police also appealed to the people to not perform any stunts or indulge in reckless driving.
