Chandigarh BJP mourns death of ex-CM Vijay Rupani
The city unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today organised a condolence meeting at the party office to mourn the demise of former Gujarat Chief Minister and senior party leader Vijay Rupani in the plane crash in Ahmedabad.
Former Chandigarh MP Satya Pal Jain, former city party presidents Sanjay Tandon and Arun Sood, incumbent Mayor Harpreet Kaur Babla, city unit president Jatinder Pal Malhotra, along with senior office-bearers and party workers, attended the condolence meeting.
They paid a floral tribute to Rupani and observed a two-minute silence in his memory. The speakers recalled his life as one dedicated to national service, party organisation and public welfare. His passing is a great loss to the party. The BJP has lost a sincere, humble and hardworking leader, they said
Homage was also paid to all others who lost their lives in the plane crash.
