Kindness is hard to find in this utterly self-centered world where everyone works to thrive and fulfill their dreams only. Very few have the courage to put their needs aside and do contribute to the welfare of the community and come up with ingenious solutions to help people in trouble. Dr. Bhushan Kathuria is one such kind soul who has been working for the welfare of the deprived by facilitating free surgery to those who need it the most but cannot pay for it, due to their financial crunch. It was a spur-of-the-moment decision for Dr. Bhushan Kathuria, who along with his five other friends and colleagues envisioned this beautiful and soul-touching venture to assist and contribute towards medical assistance.

Dr Bhushan Kathuria is an Experienced Head & Neck Oncosurgeon, Cochlear Implant Surgeon . In addition he is also an Fellow Endoscopic Sinus & Skull Base Surgeon.

He is an experienced ENT and head and neck surgeon who came up with the idea of contributing towards the treatment of the Cochlear implant. The cochlear implant is necessary for patients who are deaf by birth and it helps them to regain their hearing capabilities by installing a small electronic device that stimulates the nerve responsible for hearing in humans. It is a very costly medical procedure that can cost up to 15 lacs per patient and is followed by months of therapy and follow-ups to check the effectiveness of the medical procedure. Collecting funds for such a noble cause is a milestone of its own, but the best part is that Dr. Bhushan Kathuria and his is group, which comprises of six people in total, put together the money using their own salaries and savings. It is not the first instance where Dr. Bhushan Kathuria has appeared like a guardian angel for patients who desperately need the implant, and the group has helped conduct many successful treatments across Delhi and Haryana.

Dr. Bhushan Kathuria was recently best out with the prestigious Samaj Sarthi award for his efforts and proactive approach towards the welfare of society. He says, “The award is a persistent reminder that my work is actually helping people and is being noticed by both the public and the government. I am motivated more than ever to continue helping deprived and needy patients, get the implant done and remove their hearing impairment.”
