Chucking a secure job to follow his heart, mega influencer Thomson Sequeira has set multitudes of minds on fire with his content channel. Read on to find out what makes him tick...

 A cursory look at Thomson’s social media account gives you a fair clue that he likes to live King size. There’s a feeling of expansiveness to all his photographs and videos; why, just take the name of his account and you need not exceed beyond the term “limitless” to reach the second one “adventurer” in his moniker before you knew that he has just summed up his spirit in the name of the account. In these tough times when you have a set career path, it takes nothing less to give flight to your dreams.

 And that’s the mantra only when you take flight – to be prepared to take that leap of faith you have to know what you seek in your heart of hearts. “Traveling has always been my passion and I knew, to become a good Instagram influencer, I had to follow it. As appreciation for my work grew, I realised I could create unique content around travel, lifestyle and fashion wherein I could inspire too! My motto in life is ‘do what you love and do it passionately’ and success will be yours to take,” Thomson is quick to reveal. No wonder he sailed through the difficult years we all just passed by. “Yes, I have followed my passion for almost four years straight without buckling because it is what I really love to do.” Write down ‘being aware of self’ on the blackboard. 

 That is all that it takes to follow through with your passion – unfailing faith and abiding patience. Having both in bucketsful has helped him to land sterling brands such as Myntra, Amazon, Flipkart. Land Rover, Vespa, US Polo, Frederique Constant and Guess watches, Fab India, Wrangler, Pinterest India, The Collective, Nautica, Marks & Spencer, Westside, Hidesign, Jack & Jones, Koovs and many others in his kitty. But the start was less adventurous and more, sheer hard work. While holding down a full-time job, balancing a passion-turned-jig on the side is like juggling two jobs all at once and Thomson juggled away for quite a bit. “At the beginning, I worked hard at my job through the week, and created my personal content over the weekends. Sure, it was very difficult! But the rewards were sweet as well. Slowly, brands started approaching me and I started making money off my passion. So, in January 2020, I was emboldened to quit my job and start blogging full-time.” Write down ‘being brave’ on the board. 

 Of course, he always remembers to elaborate how creating content on a daily basis is not a mountain to be trekked alone – it is a team effort. “In the early stages, it was insane as I did not have a team and had to do everything on my own. At present, I have a manager who handles many of my backend activities, such as billing, pitching for business, and coordination and briefing with clients. That sets me free to focus solely on content ideation and execution decisions!” So, write down ‘thinking and planning ahead’ on the board.

 Having started off as a travel blogger, Thomson is finally making time to indulge in his first love again. He is traveling to Goa, the dream destination for many, and having the time of his life. At the same time, he has not loosened his ties with lifestyle or fashion blogging either. In fact, he is busy thinking up more unique ways to rock ethnic Indian wear while keep his western looks extremely on-point as well. Chalk up ‘being consistent and yet expanding his horizons’ on the board next.
