National Doctors’ Day is an annual affair wherein the celebrations are confined to the medical fraternity as the general masses are too busy with their daily chores, least concerned about the importance of the small community of healers who work hard to keep us healthy.

But this year, Moradabad based philanthropist and educationist wants to change all that. He has taken a pledge to ensure people acknowledge a doctor’s importance in everyone’s life.

Through his tremendous influence upon teaching fraternity and general masses, Goel aims to pay rich tribute to all medical professionals who had put their lives on the edge in providing healthcare through the dark times of Covid 19. He wants to make sure that every household must know 730 doctors died in the second wave of Corona and more than 1,300 gave supreme sacrifice since the start of the pandemic.

Notably, this year’s theme of National Doctor’s Day also gels with Goel’s mission. It is ‘Family Doctors on the Front Line’ and the theme has been coined to acknowledge the noble task of medical professionals and to increase public awareness of the critical role they play in saving lives. The theme touches upon the importance of honouring a doctor’s profession, fostering a resilient and highly skilled workforce, and maintaining their rights in health systems in order to meet the needs of individuals and communities on a real time basis.

Arvind Goel’s endeavor in applauding the great work done by the healers is to bring home the point that with over a billion people in the country, India’s healthcare system will come to standstill without its doctors. His initiative has a purpose, to stress upon the fact that doctors play a pivotal role in sustaining mankind on the planet Earth. They put in rigorous and excruciatingly long work hours, follow tough schedules, and make their patients’ well being their priorities. The annual celebration of National Doctors’ Day is a way of saying ‘Thank You’ to the medical community and to recognize  their service.
