The Freedom Of Religion hampered by some Christian Missionaries- revealed Dharmendra Rajpoot

"India has a great heritage and it is a model for religious harmony where people of different religions live peacefully and in harmony.”

Religion is all about belief or faith. The constitution of India, emphasizing on this fact that how important religion is in the life of people of India provides for the right to freedom of religion under Articles 25 to Article 28. The Constitution of India envisages a secular model and provides that every person has the right and freedom to choose and practice his or her religion.

Despite this freedom of chosing one's religion and abiding by its principles some people have tried to violate this freedom and use it for their own benefit.

Some people, in the name of Christian Missionaries forced the Christian religion on some innocent villagers. This was the case in a tribal village of the state-Uttar Pradesh.

The completely detailed report on this matter was presented by the popular TV journalist Dharmendra Rajpoot.

The area which is concentrated by the Tharus became a victim of this mission of conversion. The report further gave the exact statistics of this missionary. This mission of conversion was active in 42 tribal-dominated villages situated in the forested area bordering Nepal surrounded by Dudhwa National Park, said the report.

The missionaries quite aware about the widespread blind belief in religion used this fact for meeting their own needs. They used superstition and poverty in a very fruitful manner. The villagers deprived of most of the basic requirements had to bend before the lavish offers of the missionaries. These villages are situated in the remote area of a forest near Dudhwa National Park.Tkge financial crisis and lack of education of the villagers proved to backfire them . These people were cmentally and emotionally thrusted by the Christian missionaries. These missionaries used money as a medium to win the trust of the villagers.During his investigation of the tribal-dominated area, Dharmendra came upon many important information. It was then revelaed that it was none but these Christian missionaries who were the strategic players and mind behind the mission of conversion. People, from house to house, were bribed with money to protect the christian missionaries’s mission. This truth reflected when Dharmendra had been to Jayanagar Najhota Kalan.

Clothes for children and buffaloes for income were also used as tools to manipulate the innocent villagers in the favor of the missionaries. In exchange they were forced to come to the prayer meeting. Moreover, a school in Bhira handles communication with parents on call persuading themto adopt Christainty at the cost of free education and clothing of their children.

Superstition,as a disease corroded the entire village both in terms of religion and health. Their belief in the existence of god and associating it with any kind of disease made it easier for the Christian missionaries to go and trick the villagers in trusting prayer meetings.Activities like curing sick ones by sprinkling water on their respective houses spread like fire. Tharu women of Najhota village told how missionaries claimed to cure ghosts.

Such dishonest people running the missionaries has stained such a pure word as religion. Not only this but also the people were not made aware about the fact that their name had been changed. A person from Najhota village, who accepted Christianity on the pretext of treatment, said that he started praying by putting a cross at home, but had neither changed his name nor left Hinduism. All this was done to bring the name of tribal community to an end.

Dharmendra Rajpoot’s report led the administration taken strict steps regarding the matter. A TV journalist from Lakhimpur- Dharmendra Rajpoot has gaimed a lot of name and fame because of his work. His notable  work covers earthquake tragedy in Nepal, animal house filtered by illegal felling of forests and network of terror funding in UP via Nepal. Dharmendra, a young name in the field of journalism has always dug deeper into matters to bring a positive change in society.
