India added 30.12 million internet users in the quarter ending March 2021, as work and study from home became the new normal during Covid times.
The number of internet subscribers increased from 795.18 million at the end of December 2020 to 825.30 million at the end of March 2021, registering a quarterly growth rate of 3.79%.
Out of 825.30 million internet subscribers, the number of wired internet subscribers is 26 million while the wireless internet subscribers are 799.31 million.
The internet subscriber base consists of a broadband internet subscriber base of 778.09 million and a narrowband subscriber base of 47.21 million.
The details of growing internet and mobile subscriber base are contained in the Indian Telecom Services Performance Indicator Report for the Quarter ending March 31, 2021 released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) this week. — TNS
